Humana Military Healthcare Services Awarded Patient Appointing Services Contract

LOUISVILLE, KY USA
          Services to support military patients in Colorado Springs

    LOUISVILLE, Ky., June 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Humana Inc. (NYSE: HUM) announced
today that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Humana Military Healthcare Services
(HMHS), has been awarded its fourth Department of Defense Patient Appointing
Services Contract. The new agreement is for services in military medical units
in Colorado Springs, Colorado, including Evans Army Community Hospital at Fort
Carson, the 10th Medical Group located at the Air Force Academy and the 21st
Medical Group at Peterson Air Force Base
    This award, like three previous awards at Keesler Air Force Base,
Mississippi, Fort Bragg, North Carolina and Wright Patterson Air Force Base,
Ohio, requires HMHS to provide patient appointments for patients seeking
military health care services.

    HMHS will begin performance of this contract on July 1st.  Following a
three-month "base period," there are provisions for four one-year option
periods.  Revenues to Humana will be approximately $3 million annually.
