Continental Honors Employees for Innovations at Patent Awards Dinner

    AUBURN HILLS, Mich., June 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Continental recognized the
efforts and achievements of North American employees who contributed to the
organization's intellectual property in the form of patents and invention
disclosures in 2007, at a celebratory dinner May 29th.

    Now in its seventh year, the annual dinner pays tribute to the
importance of ideas and contributions made by individuals who help ensure
the company's position as a technological leader in the automotive

Patents were awarded to: -- Geoffrey Bauer REDUCED ORDER PARAMETER IDENTIFICATION FOR VEHICLE ROLLOVER CONTROL SYSTEM A system and method that estimates a parameter related to the mass of a loaded vehicle as well as the mass distribution for improved performance of vehicle rollover control systems. -- Jan Hoffmann & Michael Vetter PLUNGER MASTER BRAKE CYLINDER A method for retaining the pistons in the bore of a plunger master cylinder prior to installation into the vehicle. -- Yuji Nakayasu ELECTROMAGNETIC SHUTTLE VALVE An electromagnet shuttle valve with a larger flow path for improved performance at cold temperatures.
