MarketWatch.com Elects Monitor Group and Triarc Executives to Board Of Directors

    SAN FRANCISCO, June 11 /PRNewswire/ --
MarketWatch.com, Inc. (Nasdaq: MKTW), the Internet's leading source of
financial news and information, announced today that the company has elected
Jeffrey F. Rayport, Chief Executive Officer of Marketspace LLC, a Monitor
Group company, and Jonathan P. May, Senior Vice President of Corporate
Development for Triarc Companies, Inc., to its board of directors.

    Jeffrey F. Rayport heads Marketspace LLC, a research, media, and advisory
unit of Monitor Group, the Cambridge, MA-based strategy services firm.
Previously a faculty member at the Harvard Business School, his research
focuses on the impact of new information technologies on service management
and marketing strategies, especially in information-based and
knowledge-intensive industries.
    Rayport developed and taught the first e-commerce course among the
top-tier business schools in the United States.  Established in 1995, his
course Managing Marketspace Businesses is an HBS elective on
technology-enabled service channels that has enrolled more than a thousand
students and for which he developed over 100 case studies.  Business plans
developed by students resulted in a wide array of Internet start-ups,
including Yahoo!

    Jonathan P. May is Senior Vice President, Corporate Development of

franchisor of the Arby's restaurant system.  Mr. May is also the Chairman of
Triarc Restaurant Group, Inc., Triarc's principal subsidiary.
    Before joining the Triarc corporate office, Mr. May was CEO of
Triarc Restaurant Group from July 1999 through January 2001.  He joined Triarc
Restaurant Group in 1995 as Vice President, Worldwide Planning.  In August
1996, he moved into an operations role as Vice President, Concept Development.
He held this position until becoming CEO in July 1999.
