EDISON, N.J., June 12 /PRNewswire/ -- KCS Energy, Inc. (NYSE: KCS) today
announced the promotion of Chris Jacobsen, 42, to the position of Vice
President of Engineering and Portfolio Development.
    In this newly created position, Mr. Jacobsen will be responsible for the
Company's strategic asset management, including primary responsibility for
acquisitions and divestitures.  Mr. Jacobsen has been with KCS Medallion
since 1994, most recently in the capacity of Senior Vice President
of Exploration, Development and Reserves and prior thereto as Senior Vice
President of Production and Reserves.  Before joining the Company, Mr.
Jacobsen was Senior Vice President with Netherland, Sewell & Associates of
Dallas for 12 years.
