ST. LOUIS, June 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Mallinckrodt Inc. (NYSE: MKG) has named
Debra Reisenthel vice president and general manager of the company's Healthy
Mother and Baby Division, a new strategic business unit established to meet
the unique needs of mothers and their children during the 21 months from
conception to the baby's first birthday.
Reisenthel's appointment and creation of the new division coincide with
the introduction of Mallinckrodt's fetal oxygen monitoring system, OxiFirst,
that is used by physicians to provide a reliable, direct measure of the oxygen
status of the fetus during labor and delivery. OxiFirst was approved by the
U.S. Food and Drug Administration on May 12, 2000, and was introduced less
than one week later at the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology
annual meeting.
Reisenthel joined Nellcor in 1986 (acquired by Mallinckrodt in 1997) as a
clinical education consultant. She moved into the marketing department in
1989, where she managed a key respiratory product line. Since 1991,
Reisenthel has focused her attention on the development and marketing of
perinatal products. She served as director and senior director of marketing
for the perinatal division and later became senior director and general
manager of the perinatal business unit.
A registered respiratory therapist, Reisenthel's clinical background
includes directing the neonatal, pediatric and labor and delivery areas for
respiratory care at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, Illinois.
She has a bachelor's degree in applied behavioral sciences and a master's
degree in business administration.
