Marketing Guy Joins High Tech Association as VP of Industry Relations; MHTA Adds Staff to Support Growth in Industry

EAGAN, Minn., Feb. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- The Minnesota High Tech Association
(MHTA) announces its newest team player, Vice President of Industry Relations,
Phil Platt. In this role, Phil will be responsible for building and
sustaining relationships with members and key representatives within the
technology industry, meeting the growing needs of member companies. Phil is
no stranger to the high tech industry. He has been active and visible with
various local business and industry groups, a primary organizer of St. Paul's
Cyber Village, and has lobbied at state and national levels. Phil has also
been an active member of MHTA.
"As an active member participant in MHTA in recent years, initially with
gofast.net and then with Agiliti, I know first hand that the Association plays
a vital role in enabling the growth and success of technology companies in
Minnesota. It is readily apparent that member companies can benefit greatly
from being a part of MHTA. The tremendous programs offered, the quality of
the staff and new leadership, along with the growing strength of membership
and the Board of Directors, give us more opportunity to make this an exciting
place to be," said Platt.
In addition, Phil has decades of experience in the marketing and
communications field in the Twin Cities. He comes to the Association from
Agiliti/gofast.net where he was their "Marketing Guy." Prior to that, Phil
was the national development officer for Twin Cities Public Television, served
a long stint at Minnesota Public Radio and assisted artists to develop their
business skills at United Arts in Landmark Center.
"We are extremely excited to have Phil on board with us. In the next few
years, we expect to grow the Association at a fairly rapid pace, a pace that
will continue to serve our membership and our industry. With his past
experience in the local tech scene, Phil is exactly the person who can make
that happen," stated R. Jane Brown, President of MHTA.
Phil Platt can be reached at pplatt@mhta.org or 651-683-3890 and welcomes
calls from all walks of the local tech community.
