Freever, the Creator of Mobile Phone Communities, Has Been Chosen Alongside
17 Other European Companies to Present Its Plans and Prospects for the Future
At Red Herring's Venture Market Europe 2001 in London
PARIS, June 12 /PRNewswire/ -- President and CEO, Jerome Traisnel has been
invited to present his company, Freever, and its development prospects on
13 June to a prestigious audience of international analysts and financiers
brought together by Red Herring, the leading growth companies magazine.
Freever, which now has a presence in France, Italy and the UK, already
offers its new medium of communication in partnership with four major European
telecom operators: Vodaphone, Orange, SFR and Bouygues Telecom. The SMS
community and chat service is already a hit with teenagers; after three months
of commercial operation, over 300,000 young people use the service on a daily
basis.
The goals set by Jerome Traisnel and his team at the time of the first
pool in September 2000 are in the process of being realised, and the objective
of breaking even by mid-2002 without having to call in additional funding will
be easily achieved. EUR 12 million was invested at the time by major backers
like CDC-innovation, Net Partners and Add Partners, making it one of the
10 largest fundraising events in Europe in the second half of 2000. The three
backers are still fully committed to the project, their respective countries
of origin and locations having greatly facilitated Freever's success in these
three European countries, allowing the company to look to the future with
peace of mind.
The rapid expansion of SMS use as well as the market, and also the fact
that telecom operators have opened up to the ASPs (Application Service
Providers), following the example of the United States, make Freever an
experienced player much in demand in the mobile phone and VAS (value-added
services) arena. This is the background against which Jerome Traisnel will
explain the development prospects open to Freever today to professionals
gathered at Red Herring's Venture Market Europe 2001.
Through its various applications, Freever is one of the first VAS
companies in Europe to work with telecom operators. The pressing need for the
operators to maintain if not increase their ARPU (Average Revenue Per User)
positions Freever as a key player in the development of mobile services.
