Latest Release Focuses on Features to Improve Operator Efficiency and Provide
Greater Return on Investment
COLUMBIA, Md., June 12 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- GSE Systems, Inc.
(Amex: GVP), a leading provider of real-time simulation and process control
solutions for the energy and process industries, announced today the release
of a new version of its flagship Process Automation System, D/3. As with
previous versions, the new D/3 11.0 will control and automate process plant
operations so users can improve manufacturing safety, throughput and
consistency while achieving cost reductions and profit improvements for their
companies.
Twenty years after GSE Systems' first D/3 was introduced, the Company
continues to deliver innovative, powerful and comprehensive plant automation
solutions for process manufacturers right out of the box while leveraging
users' current process control investments. D/3's open architecture
facilitates the integration of a plethora of existing and new field devices
and supports the management of process information throughout the enterprise.
Major enhancements to D/3 Version 11.0, including improved alarm handling
and advanced system diagnostics, will enable users to diagnose plant problems
rapidly and efficiently. The Enhanced Alarm Management feature offers the
ability to dynamically change alarm levels based on process state and/or alarm
priority. The Company is also introducing two new more cost effective process
controllers based on the use of modern PCI back plane technology and improved
diagnostics. These controllers will enable users to automate applications not
considered justifiable in the past while delivering the same rugged, redundant
reliability as its predecessors.
"We at GSE are proud of the D/3 system's flexible design. Through customer
driven enhancements, the D/3 has maintained its twenty year position as the
most innovative process automation solution available. More importantly, we
are proud of the fact that during the past twenty years, we have never dead-
ended a customer," said Dion Freedman, Vice President of Process Solutions for
GSE Systems. "With this latest release we can offer customers classic DCS
functionality at PLC prices. And, as always, our pledge to existing and future
customers is that we will guarantee you a migration path to the future,"
continued Freedman.
