Millions of Americans with Nighttime Pain Can Sleep Easier with Latest

Healthcare, a division of Wyeth (NYSE: WYE), announced today the
availability of Advil(R) PM, which combines the multi-pain relieving power
of Advil(R) with a gentle sleep aid. Advil PM offers relief of occasional
sleeplessness associated with minor aches and pains -- including sore
muscles, backache and minor arthritis pain -- helping users fall asleep and
stay asleep.
Advil PM features ibuprofen, which is clinically proven to provide
better relief of tough pain than acetaminophen-based products, including
Tylenol(R). In fact, no over-the-counter pain reliever has been proven
stronger than Advil, a brand trusted by millions of people for more than 20
years.

A survey conducted by the National Sleep Foundation (NSF) found that
almost 20 percent of Americans (42 million) experienced nighttime pain or
physical discomfort that disrupted their sleep a few nights a week or more.
In fact, sixty-eight percent of Americans currently are getting less than
eight hours of sleep on weeknights, while the U.S. Department of Health and
Human Services recommends at least eight hours of uninterrupted sleep.
Consequently, 15 percent of Americans are turning to sleep aids, making
the sleep aid market a $3.1 billion business annually in the United States,
of which more than $260 million can be attributed to over-the-counter
treatments.
With pain being categorized as the second leading cause of
sleeplessness and Americans increasingly turning to sleep aids, Advil PM
answers the need for a non-aspirin- or acetaminophen-based alternative to
alleviate nighttime pain.
Advil PM caplets currently are available in 20ct, 40ct and 80ct sizes,
for $4.79, $7.59 and $10.79, respectively. A 4ct trial size is also
available for $0.99 in stores across the country. The active ingredients in
each caplet of Advil PM are diphenhydramine citrate (38 mg), a nighttime
sleep aid, and ibuprofen (200 mg), a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug.
Adults and children 12 years or older may take two caplets of Advil PM at
bedtime, and must not exceed two caplets in a 24-hour period.
