Infinity Contributes XML-based Network Trade Model to Microsoft Windows DNAfs Initiative;

--Infinity to Lead the Windows DNAfs Advisory Council Competency Centers
                    for Risk Management and Derivatives--

NEW YORK, June 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Infinity, A SunGard Company (NYSE: SDS),
today announced that Infinity has contributed the Infinity Network Trade Model
to the Microsoft Windows(R) Distributed interNetworking Architecture for
Financial Services (Windows DNAfs) Advisory Council. The Infinity Network
Trade Model will form the basis for industry standards definitions for Risk
Management and Derivatives schemas and interfaces.
Infinity has joined the Microsoft STP / Windows DNAfs Advisory Council and
taken responsibility for leading the council's risk management and derivatives
Competency Centers as a result of the work and expertise they provide to the
initiative. This announcement was made at the Securities Industry Association
Technology Management Conference & Exhibit in New York City. Infinity is the
leading provider of enterprise solutions for financial trading, risk
management and operations.
The objective of the Microsoft Windows DNAfs initiative is to promote
standards within the financial services industry that address the key
obstacles to straight-through-processing: business-to-business connectivity
and application-to-application integration between new and legacy systems.
The Windows DNAfs initiative for straight-through-processing defines
cross-platform XML-based schemas and an interface standard for financial
services software developers. Microsoft recently invited developers from the
leading software vendors and financial institutions to form a consortium to
evolve standards for the exchange of information relating to financial
transactions.
Infinity is building on a pedigree established over fifteen years of
capturing trading activity for risk management. Infinity's Network Trade Model
(NTM) is aimed at easing the development burden when integrating systems. It
does this by supporting a common language through which systems communicate
and providing services to transport the data in a secure and reliable fashion.
Infinity's Network Trade Model is a logical model of the trades, trade details
and life-cycle events of derivatives, securities, equities and foreign
exchange instruments. Events are communicated through NTM messages, which are
expressed in Extensible Markup Language (XML). Trading and risk management
applications are able to pass NTM messages across hardware platforms and the
Internet using a message backbone or any middleware. By contributing the
Network Trade Model to the Windows DNAfs Initiative, Infinity is making
publicly available a solution that is currently used to integrate over twenty
disparate trading systems in production at over eighty client sites globally.
Brian Robins, senior vice president of marketing at Infinity, stated,
"Financial institutions today spend over 70% of their software development
effort on building and maintaining system interfaces. To stay competitive,
financial institutions need a low-risk way to control costs and integrate
existing legacy systems with powerful, scalable solutions that support
multiple delivery channels. Infinity has implemented the Network Trade Model
in a solid, scalable enterprise computing platform, along with a rich set of
programming tools, a powerful, version-safe and language-independent
programming methodology, and a full set of applications that allows financial
institutions, both large and small, to deploy great trading and risk
management solutions. We have submitted the Network Trade Model to the Windows
DNAfs Advisory Council with a vision of increased integration between
applications."
Matthew Conners, Microsoft Industry Manager for Financial Services,
commented, "With Windows DNAfs we are focused on integration to help achieve
straight-through-processing. Infinity's record of success in the risk
integration domain with its Network Trade Model brings critical expertise to
our initiative. Infinity has long supported Microsoft technology, and we are
pleased they are an early adopter of our XML schemas and the Windows DNAfs
interfaces."
"Infinity has been researching and developing tools utilizing XML for one
year and is pleased to see this endeavor endorsed with the financial
industry's rapid adoption of XML," adds Ron Lang, president, Infinity. "One of
Infinity's competitive advantages is to identify emerging industry standards
early on and deliver innovative, open, modular components to build customized
solutions. Infinity is an early adopter of Microsoft's DNAfs architecture and
is deploying solutions today based on XML, IIS and ASP."
