Demos include 100Mbps IPTV HD video streaming, IP-Bonded VDSL2, and
interactive line diagnostics and service assurance solutions
BEDFORD, Mass., June 16 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Aware, Inc. (Nasdaq:
AWRE), a leading supplier of broadband technology and DSL test and
diagnostics solutions, today announced that it will showcase several new
DSL technologies and demonstrations in its booth at NXTcomm 2008 this week.
Aware will feature its StratiPHY(TM) DSL silicon intellectual property (IP)
as well as its Dr. DSL(R) test and diagnostics solutions for handheld and
centralized test suppliers and service providers in its booth, #SU6807,
from June 16 to 19, 2008 in Las Vegas.
StratiPHY DSL Intellectual Property Licensing
Expanding on its successful StratiPHY product line, Aware will feature
a live demonstration of its new StratiPHY3(TM) analog and digital reference
design. The demonstration, which includes Aware's new StratiPHY-A(TM)
analog front end (AFE) technology, will show Internet Protocol Television
(IPTV) high-definition (HD) video streaming at 30 MHz with symmetrical
rates of 100 Mbps, which is ideal for a multi-dwelling unit (MDU)
environment. There will also be an interactive demonstration of Aware's
VDSL2 IP-Bonded solution which will give service providers a first-hand
look at how bonded technology can be used to dramatically extend the reach
of their VDSL2 IPTV service area. StratiPHY offers chipset manufacturers a
complete standard-compliant IP offering, including RTL and firmware source
code, GDSII, sample silicon, development systems, reference designs, and an
Aware AFE for both customer premises (CPE) and optimized multiport central
office (CO) applications.
Dr. DSL Test and Diagnostics Hardware and Software
Aware's Universal DMT (UDMT(TM)) product line of small-profile DSL test
modem modules are designed for easy integration into telecom outside plant
handheld devices and automated test head solutions for advanced DSL
diagnostics. The UDMT modules can operate in DSLAM mode to qualify in-home
copper wiring or isolate wiring faults, or as a customer premises device to
verify DSLAM sync rates. The NXTcomm demonstration will show Aware's UDMT
module interoperating against ADSL2+, legacy VDSL1, and VDSL2 DSLAMs. Aware
will also demonstrate how Aware's Dr. DSL expert diagnostics software
modules can be embedded into handheld devices to provide enhanced
diagnostics functionality.
Aware will also highlight its Dr. DSL Line Diagnostics Platform (LDP)
and how this centralized server-based software solution works with a
service provider's installed DSL network access equipment, such as DSLAMs
and BLCs, to offer a comprehensive, centralized system for
pre-qualification and fault detection, as well as line diagnostics and
monitoring of the carrier's DSL lines. Aware will show a live demonstration
of the LDP conducting single- ended and dual-ending tests in a simulated
service provide network.
