Survey Results to be Presented on Marketing and Communications Trends
BASKING RIDGE, N.J., June 16 /PRNewswire/ -- The 10 largest non-profit
organizations supporting marketing and communications in New Jersey are
getting together on July 16, 2008, at The Olde Mill Inn at Basking Ridge,
N.J., for a Joint Summer Networking Event. The evening, organized by the NJ
MarCom Council, brings together marketing and communications professionals
from all industries, with an opportunity to network and review the
offerings of these organizations. Held several consecutive summers, each
event brings more attendees (over 250 at the previous event) to meet peers
and compare insights for the future of communications.
Sponsoring organizations, with a collective membership of more than
3,000, include:
-- The Art Directors Club of New Jersey (ADCNJ)
-- Northern New Jersey Professional Chapter of the Association for Women
in Communications (AWCNJ)
-- Society of Competitive Intelligence Professionals (SCIP)
-- New Jersey Chapter of the American Marketing Association (NJAMA)
-- Business Marketing Association of New Jersey (BMANJ)
-- Marketing Executives Networking Group of New Jersey (MENG)
-- Public Relations Society of America-New Jersey Chapter (PRSA/NJ)
-- New Jersey Ad Club (NJAdClub)
-- North Jersey Chapter of the Media Communications Association
International (MCA-INJ)
-- New Jersey Chapter of the International Association of Business
Communicators (NJ/IABC)
The event is increasingly popular because it reaches so many aspects of
marketing and communications: advertising, branding, communications,
graphic design, art directors, competitive intelligence, market research,
online marketing, public relations, video, Web designers, interactive
specialists, printers, illustrators and educators. For those students who
graduated in May and are now looking to join the workforce, this event
provides a great opportunity to meet industry professionals who can help
guide their career decisions.
Said Wendy Flanagan, NJ MarCom Council Chairperson, "The business
organizations of New Jersey have so much value to offer their members. This
Joint Summer Networking Event gives the organizations the opportunity to
differentiate themselves, explain their benefits, and recruit new members."
This cross-functional, cross-industry role analysis is interesting and
relevant to the very nature of business in N.J. An informal survey on the
event site home page (http://www.njmarcom.org) is collecting information from
prospects to help determine trends in marketing and communications as well
as the opinions of this audience. For example, to date, the most vested
media for communications are e-mail, e-newsletters, whitepapers, and Web
sites, followed closely by presentations, collateral, direct mail and
tradeshows. Although 37 percent of those surveyed indicated a shift in
budget to Web-based initiatives, 30 percent indicated that allocation had
remained the same, 17 percent indicated an increase in all media, and 10
percent indicated a decrease in spending. Results from the survey will
continue to be collected until the event on July 16, and final statistics
will be shared amongst all organizations.
