SAN FRANCISCO, June 16 /PRNewswire/ -- The Endocrine Society, an
international association focused on endocrinological research and
practice, today hosted a teleconference for security analysts. The call
originated from ENDO 08, the annual conference of the Society, which is now
being held in San Francisco. The Society has over 14,000 members from 80
countries, many of whom attend the conference to report on the latest
advances in endocrine research and clinical care.
The purpose of today's call was to inform financial professionals that
follow healthcare and pharmaceutical companies of new research and
treatments. Among the news presented was:

as diabetes and obesity. This knowledge may provide new targets for
drug development to attack these diseases through new pathways.

conditions.
-- Breakthrough research results on new hormones to treat menopausal
symptoms without increased breast cancer risk.
