ST. LOUIS, June 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Mallinckrodt Inc. (NYSE: MKG) today
announced that oximetry module sales for its original equipment manufacturers
(OEM) are especially strong, with volume increasing 15 percent year-to-date
over the prior fiscal year.
"We are especially pleased with the robust growth of our OEM business,"
said Doris Engibous, Mallinckrodt's vice president for Oximetry. "We have
expanded our product line with two high-performance oximetry modules (the
MP304 and the MP404) and are poised for continued growth."
"We have added three new OEM partners since January, bringing the total of
OEMs and licensees to 75," said Bill Bednarski, senior director of Nellcor OEM
and Licensing Technology. "Our customers have seen where we are and where
we're going. The year-to-date results indicate broad confidence in the
direction we are taking. More and more monitoring companies want access to
the brand of oximetry on which so many institutions have standardized."
"Patient safety continues to be fundamental for this company and our
customers," Engibous said. "Clinicians want a brand of oximetry they can
trust. Our strict adherence to the philosophy of full disclosure is the
recognized way to go."
