Based on Two Peas' Total Information Pages (TIP) technology, the new
breaking press release service dubbed TIP iPhone Press Releases (TIPR) will
provide iPhone users with access to all the press releases issued over PR
Newswire.
The TIP technology also enables every press release to be immediately
optimized so that every single word found within a release can be linked to
more contextual information using an unlimited number of online information
sources.
Joshua Cohen, director of Content Licensing and Distribution at PR
Newswire, explains, "If a pharmaceutical company issues a press release
over PR Newswire about a new drug to help stroke victims and the release
posts to the TIPR platform, an iPhone user that clicks on the word 'stroke'
will immediately be linked to Google where an automatic search will return
more information on the word 'stroke'. Although Google is the default
search source, an iPhone user can change the search source at any time to
use a more targeted online information source, such as a medical
information website."
He adds, "The advances in technology over the past five years have
significantly changed the way in which organizations communicate by
providing them with many more ways in which to engage their audiences.
Today, organizations expect that when they send a press release over a
newswire, they are reaching their audiences through all mediums and in all
the communities in which they congregate. The technology developed by Two
Peas will provide another level of engagement and contextualization of our
customers' content, making it even more relevant to target audiences
everywhere."
"TIP technology offers PR Newswire's customers and iPhone news release
readers a truly unique experience," commented Dave Lalande, general
manager, Two Peas Consulting, LLC. "Working in unison with Google's
Advanced site search, TIP empowers the user to decide in what context they
would like to view the search results. Searching text within the news
stories is as easy as touching any word on the screen. You can even search
your own organization's Web site for references to any word within the news
stories."
Lalande adds, "This level of contextual search power has not been
widely available until now. Our partnership with PR Newswire allows us to
showcase our patent pending TIP technology. There are other full-text
search technologies emerging, but these client-side systems are not
compatible with all Internet browsers. Our TIP technology is the only one
we know of that currently works on all browsers and mobile platforms."
