announced that Steven S. Myers, SM&A Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, won
the Ernst & Young LLP 1999 Entrepreneur Of The Year award for Orange County,
Calif. in the category of Software & Information Services. As a regional
award winner, Myers is now entered in the national Entrepreneur Of The Year
competition at the Ernst & Young EOY International Conference in November
1999. At the national competition, regional award winners are also inducted
into the Entrepreneur Of The Year Hall of Fame.
This year's elite, blue-ribbon panel of judges was composed of
entrepreneurs and prominent leaders from academia, business and the venture
capital community.
Among many reasons cited for selecting Myers, the combination of his
business success, civic leadership and philanthropic activities distinguished
him the most. Myers was further commended for his major innovation of
"professionalizing" the proposal management business. Steven S. Myers founded
SM&A in 1982 and is credited with building the company into the nation's
