Applied Imaging Corp. (Nasdaq: AICX) announced today the formation of a
Scientific Advisory Board to provide advice and direction in scientific
research and product development for its OncoPath(TM) image analysis systems.
The Board is comprised of academics and medical professionals representing
a wide range of research and clinical interests in the field of cancer and
pathology. As a result, the Company believes it has assembled a distinguished
international membership with a deep understanding of clinical trends, which
will be instrumental in identifying new applications for its OncoPath systems.
Applied Imaging's OncoPath systems (Ariol(TM), MDS(TM) and SPOT(TM)) provide
advanced scanning microscopy capabilities that detect targeted cancer cells in
concentrations as low as one cell among one million other cells. Once
detected, the systems utilize proprietary analysis software for the
characterization of both genes and proteins in these cells.
