TotalMRO.com to Provide Access to More Than 3.5 Million MRO Products
CHICAGO, June 20 /PRNewswire/ -- TotalMRO.com, Grainger's latest
e-Commerce initiative, today announced that Wesco Distribution, a division of
WESCO International, Inc., Carlton-Bates Company, Precision Industries, Magid
Glove & Safety, Grainger Parts Company, and Gempler's, Inc. will join other
leading suppliers in offering products and services through its one-stop
Internet-based maintenance, repair, and operating (MRO) solution. These major
MRO distributors join the initial ten participants, which include Briggs-
Weaver, Cameron and Barkley Company, Lab Safety Supply, Manufacturers
Equipment and Supply Company, MetersandInstruments.com (a wholly-owned
subsidiary of Transmation, Inc.), Motion Industries, New Pig Corporation,
Newark Electronics, Transcat (a division of Transmation, Inc.), and Grainger.
TotalMRO.com provides customers access to everything MRO. Customers can
easily search, identify and select the best product for their application from
more than 3.5 million products. Annual sales of MRO products by participating
suppliers represent approximately $12.5 billion.
In addition to easily searchable product information, customers have
access to pre-negotiated pricing and product availability information.
TotalMRO.com is available through the Ariba B2B Commerce Platform(TM) and
SAP's Business-to-Business Procurement (BBP) solution. In the future,
customers will be able to access TotalMRO.com from a wide variety of business-
to-business (B2B) e-Commerce platforms including market exchanges, portals,
and other marketplaces.
The Earthgrains Company, with $2.04 billion in sales for fiscal year 2000,
has been purchasing products from TotalMRO.com through its Ariba B2B Commerce
Platform since late March. "In addition to providing our plants, depots and
other facilities across the United States with one-stop access to MRO products
and services, TotalMRO.com has assisted in the change management process,"
