RSA Security Ships New USB-Enabled RSA SecurID(R) Authenticator

New tokens expand flexibility and choice for customers worldwide

BEDFORD, Mass., June 20 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- RSA Security Inc.
(Nasdaq: RSAS) today announced worldwide availability of the new USB-enabled
RSA SecurID(R) SID800 two-factor authentication token, which enables customers
to manage a broad range of authentication credentials, including one-time
passwords, digital certificates and static passwords. The RSA SecurID SID800
token increases flexibility by enabling people to leverage the security
benefits of two-factor authentication in either a connected or disconnected
environment. In addition, the RSA SecurID SID800 token comes with an
integrated smart chip, which delivers the functionality and versatility of a
smart card in a convenient and easy-to-carry format.
With over 300 partners certified as interoperable with RSA SecurID
software through the RSA Secured(R) Partner Program, customers benefit from
knowing the new token works out-of-the-box with most of the world's leading
enterprise technology solutions. The ease-of-use, expanded credential support
and interoperability also provide an attractive offering for RSA Security
resellers and RSA Security Managed Authentication Services program partners.
"At CSC we believe it is imperative that security solutions provide the
greatest range of options, particularly in terms of authentication
credentials," said Robert Baer, Security Architect, CSC Corporation. "The USB-
enabled RSA SecurID token will enable our customers to provide employees with
more secure network access, in a convenient, highly portable format."
The token's 64k smart chip is capable of storing up to seven digital
certificates and three sets of password credentials, which can be used to log
on to a Microsoft Windows(R) operating system. The USB connector is able to
read one-time passwords directly from the authenticator, eliminating the need
to manually enter one-time password data.
"We are thrilled with the response from customers to the new RSA SecurID
SID800 token," said John Worrall, vice president of worldwide marketing at RSA
Security. "As we continue our 20-year history of innovation, RSA Security's
expanded portfolio of strong authentication solutions enables organizations to
more broadly leverage two-factor authentication as part of a comprehensive
identity and access management strategy."
