technology company, announced today that it will make podium presentations at
the upcoming BIO 2001 and Controlled Release Society Meetings in San Diego,
California. On Monday, June 25, 2001 (9:00 AM Pacific/12:00 PM Eastern) at
the BIO 2001 International Investor & Partnering Forum. Dr. Larry Brown,
Executive Director of Scientific Affairs at Epic, will present a paper on
"Pulmonary Insulin and Subcutaneous Leuprolide Delivery of ProMaxx(R)
Microspheres," that will give an overview of the potential of Epic's
proprietary ProMaxx(R) protein matrix drug delivery technology. Dr. Brown
will comment on several features of the ProMaxx(R) technology that demonstrate

Pacific) at the 28th International Symposium on Controlled Release of
Bioactive Materials, held June 23 - 27, 2001 in San Diego where his talk will
focus on the application of the ProMaxx(R) technology to pulmonary delivery.
In addition, poster presentations by Drs. Terrence Scott and Julia Rashba-Step
will describe the versatility of the ProMaxx(R) technology.
On Friday, July 27, 2001 (9:20 AM Eastern), Dr. Brown will address the use
of the ProMaxx(R) system for injectable and pulmonary delivery of proteins and
peptides at the 6th International Drug Delivery Technology and Deal Making
Summit, held July 25 - 26, 2001 in Princeton, New Jersey.
