Company Confirms Strategy to Pursue Licensing Agreements With Companies That
Utilize ETL Middleware to Enable Data Integration
CALGARY, Alberta, June 22 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Teilhard Technologies,
a leading provider of enterprise integration software, announced today that it
has been granted patents in both the U.S. and in Canada on their system for
transforming and exchanging data between heterogeneous computer systems and
programs, associated with their JuxtaComm(TM) IP software. The company
further announced that it is offering licensing agreements to software
development companies, systems integrators, VARs, and others in both countries
that are using the Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) method of integration in
their practices.
The U.S. patent was granted on February 27, 2001 as U.S. Patent Number
6,195,662 and the Canadian patent was issued on January 20, 2004 as Canadian
Patent Number 2,241,767. Since the Canadian patent was granted this year,
company officials developed a North American marketing strategy to offer the
use of Teilhard's intellectual property, technology and products to a broad
range of companies and customers in both the public (government) and private
sectors.
Commenting on the patent, Ken Prather, CEO of Teilhard said, "EAI is one
of the fastest growing and critical components of systems integration that
currently accounts for greater than $70 billion in annual revenue globally.
Our patented process that includes the Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL)
integration process has a competitive advantage over other products in that
they can be easily, inexpensively, and incrementally implemented without the
need for extensive programming solutions."
Teilhard's JuxtaComm Integration Platform technology extracts data from
databases, legacy systems, flat files, applications, and MQSeries queues;
completes the necessary conversions and transformations; and delivers relevant
information in the appropriate formats, to target files, applications or MQ
Series queues. JuxtaComm's applications enable organizations to treat all
data in the same manner -- regardless of its format or source -- without
having to write complex, problem-specific software that requires considerable
time and money to maintain.
The JuxtaComm Integration Platform has three key applications that work
together to prepare and execute a customized integration solution. The
JuxtaComm Architect is used to design the required functions of the
integration broker, the JuxtaComm CrossOver is used to execute the solutions
designed by the JuxtaComm Architect, and the JuxtaComm Scheduler is used to
manage recurring, scheduled executions of scripts.
"Teilhard's patent clearly fits with one of the fundamental aspects of
integration," said Steve Cragg of Saint Consulting Ltd, an independent EAI
consultancy, "and that is -- moving data from one place to another while
processing or transforming it. The patent has a lot of relevancy to parts of
the EAI industry -- perhaps the strongest of all with ETL vendors."
Divjot S. Narang, Managing Director of BBG Venture Partners said, "The
U.S. and Canadian patents held by Teilhard are of great importance in the
company's discussions with various end user companies, potential IP and
product licensees and partners. A license of the JuxtaComm Integration Broker
product or a license to use Teilhard's patents (IP) can provide companies with
a competitive advantage versus their competitors that do not license
Teilhard's ETL/EAI intellectual property."
