company, announced the forthcoming release of Panorama 98.1 at this week's SIA
Technology Management Exhibition in New York. Infinity is a leading provider
of enterprise applications for financial trading, risk management and
operations.
The new release of Panorama, scheduled for August 1998, is a core
component of Infinity's comprehensive product offering for credit risk
management. Specifically, Panorama 98.1 supports the following new features:
* Enhanced Capability to Calculate Potential Future Exposures
With Panorama 98.1, traders can run potential future exposure calculations
in real-time using high performance optimized Monte Carlo simulations. There
is no need to wait until end of day. Panorama incorporates standard credit
risk measures such as Potential Future Exposure calculated from "Add-ons"
following existing practices in credit risk departments. Panorama 98.1
introduces analyses based upon potential forward evolutions of a portfolio
taking into account the variance of pricing factors.
* Enhanced Monte Carlo Analytics for Value at Risk (VaR)
Panorama 98.1 introduces VaR calculations using Monte Carlo simulation
methods. The MCVaR analysis provides optional settings corresponding to the
desired degree of randomness and the associated assumptions. It offers choices
in simulation strategies from a range of hybrids of historical simulation and
Monte Carlo simulation, reflecting balances between conservative historical
replication and random simulation. The MCVaR analysis includes a number of
techniques to enhance performance which may be selected according to the
composition of the portfolio.
* Improved Global Credit Limits Control
With the introduction of Credit Exposure Profiling in Panorama 98.1, it is
feasible to view and graph the Potential Future Exposure for each counterparty
at each term. This enables the trader to decide which counterparties to deal
with, in order to maximize efficient usage of credit lines.
* Customers Embrace Panorama as a Market-Proven Leader
Panorama enables practical and efficient operation of risk management at
every level of the enterprise, from the trader to the business unit to
executive management. Comprehensive functionality and management of real-time
