Maytag and UAW Officials to Continue Talks

    NEWTON, Iowa, June 24 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Maytag (NYSE: MYG) and
United Automobile, Aerospace and Agricultural Implement Workers of America
(UAW) have met for two days, June 23 & 24, to discuss all critical elements of
a potential labor agreement at Maytag's manufacturing facilities in Newton,
Iowa.

    Both Maytag and UAW officials have agreed to meet again next week to
resume discussions.  While negotiations are continuing, both parties agreed
not to comment on the progress, status or location.
