Electric Fuel's Pocket-Sized Power Solution is Ideal
for Business Trips, Battery Emergencies
NEW YORK, June 25 /PRNewswire/ -- PC Expo Booth #2939 -- Ever had a PDA
battery give up the ghost while you're sitting in an airport or working at a
client's, leaving you without critical information on your next appointment or
latest sales lead? The next time, just plug the pocket-sized PDA Instant
Power(TM) Charger from Electric Fuel Corporation (Nasdaq: EFCX) directly into
your handheld and keep on working without electricity. Your PDA will begin
delivering power within one minute and charge while you're using it -- even if
there's no electrical outlet for miles around.
Result: an anytime/anywhere charging solution for business trips, an
antidote to a dead battery at home or away, and peace of mind in a package
small enough to slip into a corner of your briefcase.
Originally introduced for cellphones, the Instant Power Charger is now
being released for the new generation of PDAs, including the HP Jornada
series, Casio PDA series, Palm(TM) m500 series and Handspring(TM) Visor(TM)
Edge, as well as the Novatel Minstrel S wireless modems for Handspring and HP
PDAs. Models are also available for the Palm V series, Compaq iPAQ Pocket
PCs, Handspring Visor Prism handheld computer and Handspring's VisorPhone,
Novatel Minstrel V wireless modems, and dozens of mobile phones.
Each $19.95 (MSRP) package includes a 2" x 2" zinc-based
PowerCartridge(TM) that is activated when exposed to air, a special
SmartCord(TM) adapter that connects the universal cartridge to the specific
PDA model, and an airtight pouch designed to store the cartridge between uses
in order to halt the chemical reaction and thereby preserve power for the next
use.
Together, the cartridge and cord weigh less than three ounces and plug
directly into the PDA for use on a plane, the street, or anywhere else an
electrical outlet is not readily available. Each cartridge is good for up to
three charges and hours of operation. Replacement cartridges are sold
separately for $9.95 (MSRP).
Electric Fuel's patented, environmentally friendly technology activates
the fuel inside the cartridge by drawing oxygen from the air through the
distinctive holes in the case. The charger's ability to let users keep
working on a dead battery is especially appropriate for the newest handhelds,
since features like high-performance screens that can be read in the sun and
sleeker profiles that reduce the space available for a battery decrease the
amount of time available between charges.
PDA Instant Power Chargers will be demonstrated at Electric Fuel's Booth
#2939 at PC Expo in New York from June 26-28. They will also be displayed in
the Designed for Palm Handhelds Pavilion at Booth #3722 and the Handspring
Developers' Pavilion.
The chargers will be available in major retail outlets, at airports, from
online retailers, and from Electric Fuel at 888-996-4440 (toll-free) or
