Disability Income Insurance Now Available Through Your Local Allstate Agency

JACKSONVILLE, Fla., June 25 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- The Allstate
Workplace Division, a business unit of The Allstate Corporation (NYSE: ALL),
announced today the availability of the Heritage Protector suite of individual
disability income products. While many employers provide disability insurance
to individuals that are injured on the job, Heritage Protector and Heritage
Protector Plus allows policy holders to maintain an income while disabled,
regardless of whether the disability is work related or due to sickness or
injury.
In a recent survey released by the Consumer Federation of America (CFA)
and the American Council of Life insurers (ACLI), 82% of U.S. workers either
have no long-term disability coverage or have coverage they believe is
inadequate.
Disability insurance may be appropriate for Americans that have regular
debts, like credit cards, a car payment, mortgage or other loans and a few
weeks off work would make it hard to make ends meet. The Heritage Protector
product suite of disability income insurance is available on an individual
basis. Individuals may apply for up to 60 percent of income with a benefit
minimum amount of $400 per month and a maximum of $7,000 per month. A choice
of benefit periods (2 years, 5 years, and to age 65) and elimination periods
(30, 60, 90, 180 and 365 days) helps individuals build a disability insurance
plan that can closely satisfy the coverage and budget needs. Policies are
guaranteed renewable to age 65 in most states.
Optional benefits of the Heritage Protector and Heritage Protector Plus
also include:
    -- Accidental death and dismemberment
    -- Inflation protection
    -- Future purchase option

"Many Americans do not realize the importance of individual disability
income insurance," said William H. Monie Jr., executive vice president,
Allstate Workplace Division. "The introduction of Heritage Protector and
Heritage Protector Plus disability income insurance further demonstrates our
commitment to provide Americans with a full service selection of insurance and
retirement products available through local Allstate agencies countrywide."
