SikaDamp(R) 630, a new lightweight damper that offers a significant
improvement in acoustic performance over traditional damping products such as
asphalt melt sheets. SikaDamp(R) 630 is a non-curing and lightweight
constrained layer damper of self-adhering mastic processed with an aluminum
constraining layer. "SikaDamp(R) 630 provides our automotive customers with
superior damping performance, a considerable reduction in weight and

SikaDamp(R) 630 is easy to apply and can withstand high bake conditions in
the assembly plant without any loss of damping properties. Because of its
strong adhesion characteristics, it is well suited for use in vertical and
inverted applications and also offers excellent adhesion to all OEM substrates
and process aids. SikaDamp(R)630 can be installed at any point during
assembly.
SikaDamp(R) 630 is available as a customized part. The material can be
die cut into customized shapes and sizes specific to each application. In
tests comparing SikaDamp(R) 630 and traditional dampers, SikaDamp(R) 630
offered superior damping with optimized sizing and placement, in most cases
using a smaller part. Sika Automotive offers a full optimization package for
part development including testing, modeling and production. Sika's
engineering staff will work with the assembly plant to develop a secure,
simple installation procedure. SikaDamp(R) 630 can be packaged in recyclable
or returnable containers to reduce dunnage costs.
