Hurricane Katrina Victim Crisis Outreach Boosted By $1.1 Million Federal Grant

 Funds will provide outreach, education, and referral services to displaced
                                 Americans

    HARRISBURG, Pa., June 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Hurricane Katrina evacuees
living in Pennsylvania will benefit from a $1.1 million grant that will be
used to provide additional crisis counseling and related services.
    The Department of Public Welfare's Office of Mental Health and
Substance Abuse Services received the grant through the Federal Emergency
Management Agency and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services
Administration.
    "Pennsylvania is committed to helping the victims of the Gulf Coast
hurricanes rebuild their lives," DPW Secretary Estelle B. Richman said. "We
will push for additional funding to ensure that the commonwealth has the
necessary resources to support these citizens in their time of need."
    Pennsylvania has played a significant role in providing relief to
people who were displaced by Hurricane Katrina. More than 5,000 citizens
from the Gulf Coast region are now living in the state. For more
