Piranha, Inc. Launches Probe of Possible Financial and Accounting Irregularities

    RICHARDSON, Texas, June 27 /PRNewswire/--
Piranha, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: BYTE) today announced that it is
investigating certain financial irregularities within the Company. The
investigation centers on certain loans to a director and former officer that
appear to be undocumented and made without the prior approval of Piranha's
Board of Directors.
As a result of the investigation, Piranha has secured the resignation of
Richard S. Berger as its Chief Financial Officer.
If confirmed, these financial irregularities could result in the need to
revise earlier reported audited and unaudited financial results for the year
ended December 31, 2000.
The Board of Directors is conducting the investigation with the assistance
of outside counsel, Robert A. Forrester. Mr. Forrester has engaged the
accounting firm of Killman, Murrell & Co. to assist in the investigation.
Edward W. Sample, Chairman of the Board of Directors, stated, "Piranha is
firmly committed to completing a thorough, expeditious investigation. Piranha
will take all appropriate actions necessary based upon the results of this
investigation and will promptly notify shareholders of the outcome."
