LEXINGTON, Mass., June 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Raytheon Company
(NYSE: RTNA, RTNB) announced today that Frederic M. Poses, chairman and chief
executive officer of American Standard Companies Inc., and Michael C.
Ruettgers, chief executive officer of EMC Corporation, have been elected to
the company's board of directors. Their election brings the number of
Raytheon board members to 14.
Poses, 57, was elected CEO of American Standard in January 2000 and has
been a member of that company's board since October 1999. Prior to joining
American Standard, Poses spent 30 years at AlliedSignal Inc. In October 1997,
he was elected to the board of directors and named vice chairman of
AlliedSignal. He was appointed president and chief operating officer of the
company in June 1998.
Ruettgers, 57, has been CEO of EMC since January 1992 and has been a
director of that company since May 1992. Ruettgers served as president and
chief operating officer of EMC from October 1989 to January 2000. He spent
much of his early career with Raytheon, where he played an important role in
the Patriot missile program.
The Raytheon board of directors also elected Francis S. Marchilena and
Hansel E. Tookes II executive vice presidents of the company. Marchilena, 55,
is president of Raytheon's Command, Control, Communication and Information
Systems business unit. Tookes, 53, is president and chief executive officer
of Raytheon Aircraft Company.
