MidEastWIT Brings Women in the Digital Economy Together
CHICAGO, June 28 /PRNewswire/ -- PC EXPO BOOTH 5010 -- WorldWIT (World
Women in Technology) today announced the creation of MidEastWIT, a free
network for professional women in the digital economy in the Middle East
region. Women from countries including Palestine, Israel, United Arab
Emirates, Yemen, Jordan, Egypt, Syria, and Saudi Arabia, can now share ideas
with other women working in the new economy.
"We are thrilled to welcome our new Middle East chapter into the WorldWIT
family," said Liz Ryan, founder of WorldWIT (http://www.worldWIT.org). "It is our
hope that WorldWIT will be a helpful and enjoyable forum where women in
business can forge both professional relationships and personal friendships
with members in their region, as well as WorldWIT members around the world."
WorldWIT has a unique position in the Middle East, as it is the first
e-mail list-serv in the region with chapters around the world. By encouraging
dialog across borders and cultures, MidEastWIT is taking on an unprecedented
role, as a forum for businesswomen in the region.
"Technology has changed the way women in the Middle East communicate and
plays a major role in helping them build and maintain connections," said
Kristin Brown, the newly appointed executive director of MidEastWIT.
"MidEastWIT will offer an excellent opportunity for regional dialog among
women to address all kinds of work/life issues."

About WorldWIT
WorldWIT is an Internet gathering space for businesswomen in technology
organizations and professions. It was founded in July 1999 by Liz Ryan, the
first woman vice president at U.S. Robotics, and co-founder and vice president
of Ucentric Systems, a home networking start-up, to share advice and ideas
with other women eager to "connect." ChicWIT, the first WorldWIT organization
was quickly followed by MassWIT in Boston, SilcWIT in the Bay Area, and
NycWIT in New York and other markets around the world (a complete list is
available on the site) just by word-of-mouth (or word-of-mouse). Today,
WorldWIT has close to 10,000 members in 35 markets. For more information,
