Tyson Powers First Blog From LULAC Conference

Tyson Ambassador to Bring Daily, Live Reports and Perspective From 76th LULAC
                             National Convention

LITTLE ROCK, Ark., June 28 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Tyson Foods, Inc.
(NYSE: TSN) today is launching the first blog from the League of United Latin
American Citizens' 76th annual convention.
Among the blog authors is Joseph Diaz, a Tyson team member from Waldron,
who won the opportunity to become the Tyson/LULAC ambassador through a
company-wide essay contest focused on the importance of partnership with the
local community and its organizations.
"Tyson has a long-standing commitment to supporting the community, both at
the local and national level. We had many worthy entries, but Joseph Diaz did
an exceptional job of capturing the essence of the importance and value of
community partnership," says Ed Nicholson, Tyson's director of community
relations.
The blog, which can be accessed by logging on to
http://www.tysonfoodsinc.com/powerblog , offers accounts of events from the
expo floor, perspectives of the day's events and personal thoughts on the
issues discussed. Articles and other information will be available in both
English and Spanish.
"We are so pleased that Tyson is offering this new communications vehicle
in order to allow more people to experience our convention," said Brent
Wilkes, LULAC's executive director. "We hope that many people from around the
country will log on and learn more about important issues and events taking
place during this week."
As one of the premier Hispanic events, the LULAC National Convention draws
more than 10,000 people each year including the top leaders from government,
business and the Hispanic community.
This year's theme, Emerging Latino Communities: Strengthening America,
emphasizes the growth of the Hispanic community throughout the nation,
especially in emerging, nontraditional communities.
One of those growing communities is Little Rock, Arkansas. According to
the 2000 U.S. Census, Arkansas has about 87,000 people of Hispanic descent,
compared to 19,000 at the time of the 1990 Census -- a 300 percent growth.

Founded in 1929, the League of United Latin American Citizens is the
nation's oldest and largest Hispanic organization. With thousands of members
organized into more than 700 LULAC Councils in virtually every state of the
nation and Puerto Rico, LULAC has tremendous outreach in the Hispanic
community. With a rich history of advocacy in civil rights, education,
economic development, immigration and equal opportunity, LULAC is uniquely
positioned to lead the Hispanic community into the next millennium.
Tyson Foods, Inc., founded in 1935 with headquarters in Springdale,
Arkansas, is the world's largest processor and marketer of chicken, beef and
pork and the second-largest food company in the Fortune 500. The company
