VIENNA, Va., April 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Raytheon Company (NYSE: RTNA; RTNB)
has been selected to provide information technology (IT) services to the
National Aeronautics and Space Administration's Ames Research Center (ARC) in
Mountain View, Calif., under General Services Administration (GSA) Schedule
70. The contract is valued at up to $65 million, and includes a one-year base
period followed by four one-year options.
Under the contract, Raytheon will provide IT services to support the
development, testing, implementation, operation, management and maintenance of
new and enhanced information, imaging and communication systems, networks and
facilities. The range of support includes voice, video and data
communications, engineering, local network administration, IT security,
help desk services and database administration.
Work under this contract complements the support that Raytheon currently
provides to ARC under the Federal Information Processing Services contract,
which entails information systems technology and services, system
administration, Web services, airspace management research and development,
aerodynamics research, and research in human factors and space science.
"Raytheon has a proven track record of developing, deploying and
integrating IT solutions for federal customers," said Phil LePore, a vice
president of Raytheon Company and chairman and chief executive officer of
Raytheon Technical Services Company. "This win of a second contract with the
same customer demonstrates ARC's confidence in our ability to meet the
breadth of IT requirements under the program."
Raytheon Technical Services Company, a subsidiary of Raytheon Company,
provides technical, scientific and professional service for defense, federal
and commercial customers worldwide. It specializes in management, operation
and maintenance of customer facilities, equipment and systems; logistics and
life-cycle support; overhaul and repair depot operations; engineering,

NOTE TO EDITORS: The General Services Administration's Schedule 70 for
"General Purpose Commercial Information Technology Equipment, Software, and
Services" outlines pre-negotiated labor categories and rates for specific
information technology services. This streamlined government-wide acquisition
contract enables federal agencies to issue task orders without going through a
lengthy procurement process. Raytheon is one of several hundred contractors
that provides IT services under GSA Schedule 70.
