MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., June 30 /PRNewswire/ -- MERANT (Nasdaq: MRNT) today
announced that it has been named a key provider of Y2K testing tools and
solutions for Vodafone Ltd. Vodafone, the UK's most popular mobile phone
network, has selected MERANT products to help ensure Y2K compliance of its
international billing system, most of which is written in COBOL.
Vodafone has used Micro Focus Revolve(R) and COBOL WorkBench(R) to quickly
and easily assess and test approximately 2 million lines of COBOL code as part
of its comprehensive Y2K readiness program. The final stage of remediating
the international billing system program has now been successfully completed.
