LAS VEGAS, June 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Nevada Power Company (NYSE: NVP)
announced today that a new record system peak of 3,933 megawatts was recorded
Wednesday, June 30, at 5 p.m.
Last year's system peak occurred Tuesday, July 17, at 4 p.m. with a
recording of 3,855 megawatts.
Nevada Power has an adequate supply of power. Each year the Company's
customer demand for electricity grows. Since 1994, the peak demand has risen
from 2,851 megawatts to 3,933 megawatts in 1999. The increase in demand can
be equated to customer growth. Nevada Power has grown from more than 403,000
customers in 1994 to more than 569,016 customers in June 1999.
