Gospel Superstar's Tour Supports Financial Education and Empowerment
DETROIT, June 30 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Chrysler Financial is proud to
present the Vickie Winans' Rising Star Tour. Vickie Winans will kick off the
tour at The State Theatre in Detroit on July 28 and will continue across the
country, performing in major cities such as Baltimore, Atlanta, Chicago,
Philadelphia, Orlando, Houston, Dallas and Los Angeles. The tour is free and
aims to educate people about their personal finances and endorse the belief
that education leads to personal and spiritual empowerment.

Winans is a chart-topping gospel artist with six Grammy nominations. She
recently broke Dottie People's long-standing record for most Stellar Award
wins (four) for a female artist. She took home five Stellar Awards in 2004,
including Artist of the Year, Female Vocalist of the Year and Contemporary
Female Vocalist of the Year for her most recent record, Bringing It All
Together. Bringing It All Together peaked at No. 1 on Billboard Magazine's
Top Gospel Albums chart and at No. 38 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.
In conjunction with the tour, Chrysler Financial and Vickie Winans will be
holding a talent search to find America's best new gospel artists. Ten
contestants will be selected in each city to move to the quarterfinals, with
only five artists moving to the semifinals. The five semifinalists will then
perform at the Vickie Winans' show in each city, where one winner will be
selected. Winners from each city will then travel to the grand finale show in
Detroit in November and compete for a prize package including a recording
contract with Destiny Joy Records and a two-year lease on a 2006 Chrysler
