BioGarden(TM) ( http://biospace.com/biogarden2003 ) is a regional hotbed
and Hub site on the award-winning BioSpace.com Website. BioSpace provides Web
based resources and information to the global life science community through
the industry leading Internet site, http://www.biospace.com. BioSpace.com serves more
than 1 million unique monthly visitors, generating 7 million page views each
month.
"For companies trying to make a name for themselves in the crowded
biopharmaceutical market, there's no better way to break through the clutter
than to get involved with one of our regional campaigns," says Christopher
Amato, CEO. "Large companies like Johnson and Johnson, Merck and Pfizer also
benefit by staying top-of-mind with key industry professionals, investors and
the press."
A recent study of the Life Science industry in New Jersey by Harvard
University Professor Michael Porter, sponsored by the Biotechnology Council of
New Jersey, advised that the state must embark on a new era of collaboration
to promote its life science industry. "There is no doubt that New Jersey's
life science innovation cluster is one of the brightest stars in our state's
economy," said Governor Jim McGreevey. "But other states are catching up and
the time has come for us to shift the cluster into high gear for the new
century."
"New Jersey is a leader in this important cluster and it is important to
remain that way. Growing the industry in New Jersey means supporting the
companies already here and inviting new ones to join us in this great State,"
said Debbie Hart, president of the Biotechnology Council of New Jersey.
The BioGarden Hotbed Campaign will recognize the importance of New Jersey
as a major hub for the life sciences, joining 11 other communities that
BioSpace promotes in the US, Japan, Canada, Europe and Israel. Created as
regional marketing tools, these campaigns have become a staple of the
industry's promotion by recognizing and promoting leading "hotbed" life
science communities. The campaign is structured to include organizations of
all sizes -- from emerging startups to more established organizations. A map
of the community is the art icon that represents the region, designed to be
completely interactive with company information on BioSpace.com.
All local life science companies and their vendors are invited to
participate in this exciting campaign. Please contact Bob Etheridge at
