CHICAGO, July 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Borg-Warner Security Corporation
(NYSE: B0R) announced that at a special meeting of shareholders held on
July 2, 1999, approval was given to change its corporate name to Burns
International Services Corporation. The stock ticker symbol will remain the
same.
John A. Edwardson, chairman and chief executive officer, said, "This
further enhances our plan to unify our broad range of security and other
services under the Burns International brand name." Recently the company
operated as a holding company doing business under 12 brand names. With this
change to Burns International, the company will strengthen its focus on
national marketing and training programs and implementing best practices
throughout the organization.
The Burns name dates back to 1909 when William J. Burns founded the
William J. Burns Detective Agency, headquartered in Chicago, Ill. William
Burns later served as head of the government agency that became the FBI.
Borg-Warner acquired the right to use the Burns name through an acquisition in
1982. "It is our pride in this heritage that has led us to where we are
today. Our new corporate logo honors that important history while it
symbolizes a new beginning for the company under one brand name," Edwardson
said.

provider of physical security and related services with 75,000 employees and
more than 300 offices throughout the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom
