reports opening 50 stores during the five-week period ended July 3, 2004.
With these additional stores, as of July 3, 2004, the Company operated 5,317
stores.
The 50 newest store locations, including the first store in Idaho, are in
the following states: 8 in Texas; 7 in Wisconsin; 6 in New York; 3 each in
Arizona, Colorado, North Carolina and Pennsylvania; 2 each in Massachusetts,
Ohio and Tennessee; 1 each in Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois,
Kentucky, Michigan, Nevada, New Mexico, South Carolina and Virginia.
Family Dollar Stores, Inc. operates stores in 44 states ranging as far
northwest as Idaho, northeast to Maine, southeast to Florida, and southwest to
Arizona.
