ILS Technology on SEMICON West Floor With Enhanced Factory-to-Enterprise Connectivity Solutions

 New eCentre Features Illustrate IC Industry's Confidence in e-manufacturing
                                   Security

    BOCA RATON, Fla., July 6 /PRNewswire/ -- For the first time at SEMICON
West in San Francisco, Calif., ILS Technology will showcase its suite of
software solutions for e-manufacturing connectivity in the Emerging
Technologies Hall, where technologies on display are driving Moore's Law to
its limits and beyond in nanotechnology, e-manufacturing, EDA and MEMS. Focus
of the company's demonstrations will be on recent enhancements to
eCentre(TM) -- the centerpiece of ILS Technology's product offerings. eCentre
has been deployed worldwide for e-manufacturing capability involving secure
connections between semiconductor equipment in the fab and OEM, or fab
engineers both in or outside of the factory.
    "We have added some significant new features to eCentre based on extensive
feedback from fab equipment manufacturers (OEMs) operating at several
different IC manufacturers (ICMs)," said Bill Ramus, senior vice president of
commercial management at ILS Technology. "The gist of the new features is
increased efficiency in monitoring and updating OEM tools, with access to
knowledge and data from the OEM's home site directly into the fab, and
vice-versa. This is all done with the leading security capability for which
ILS is known. Now, OEMs can have all the information they need at their tools
on the fab floor, and each new feature can be toggled on or off as required by
the hosting ICM's security team."
    Briefly described, eCentre's software components facilitate worldwide
e-manufacturing access to and from a production floor, allowing remote
monitoring of equipment for real-time data access and factory tool control.
The capability of eCentre has been proven in semiconductor manufacturing where
it has met International SEMATECH e-diagnostic guidelines for secure
collaboration between equipment and personnel located within or external to
user's wafer fabs.
    New features added to eCentre include:

     -- OEM Connector -- access to an OEM intranet while an OEM engineer is
          in a wafer fab, behind the fab's SSL Secure Sockets Layer/Virtual
          Private Network;
     --   Remote Application Access -- allows fab-approved remote telnet-like
          capability from an OEM site to their tools in wafer fabs, enabling
          the sending of a specific command line to and response from a tool;
     -- HTTP Proxy -- allows fab-approved OEM access to a Web server, on
          their tool, from outside the fab, enabling greater access to
          troubleshooting data and files;
     -- HTTP Reverse Proxy -- allows fab-approved HTTPS based applications
          to call servers from a customer site to the OEM site, for
          transmitting important subsystem performance parametrics,
          reliability data or periodic reports;
     -- Automatic Data Collection -- multi-site version of the existing
          eCentre FTP scheduler and real-time data-collection clients, to
          automate collection and installation of tool files and software;

    "This is an impressive list of enhancements to e-manufacturing
capability," said Ramus. "Even more significant, because the root source for
these features is from OEMs who are already working in an e-manufacturing
environment in production wafer fabs, it clearly shows that OEMs and ICMs
using eCentre have developed confidence in its security and are now
comfortable adding features that enhance the efficiency of e-manufacturing.
The types of features added to eCentre were not possible when security was a
concern."
    Also on display at Semicon West are ILS Technology's Flexible Security
Wrapper (FSW) and ServiceNet(TM) options. When ILS Technology's FSW is added
to eCentre's capability, it enhances the control of data access based on
real-time situational and context factors. Simply described, FSW filters a
user's access to data based on a defined role regarding use of the data. Each
individual user when accessing data, is authenticated -- a username and
password (i.e., "connection approved"), and upon successful authentication,
the set of rules that specify a list of dynamic conditions, including business
conditions, individual user profiles, cumulative data collected, equipment
states, etc. (i.e., "connection and context approved") is initiated to
determine the specific data access flow to the user.
    "We excel at providing a security solution in a shared e-manufacturing
environment with which users are comfortable; we have removed the classic
concerns," Ramus commented.
    To enable a secure communication channel between factory equipment
suppliers and manufacturing plants, ILS Technology's ServiceNet provides a
cost-effective global hosting network. At the network hub, connected parties
create a VPN-to-VPN tunnel between their companies based upon eCentre
authentication. "With secured hubs located around the globe, ServiceNet is
unmatched in its performance for speed in data access and transfer," said
Ramus.
    Demonstrations of the above products will be available in the Emerging
Technologies Hall, booth # 4312. ILS Technology will also be present at the
Microsoft booth # 4011, the Asyst Technologies booth #1338 South Hall and the
WonderWare booth # 2826.
