QUINCY, Mass., July 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Knowledge inForm, Inc. announced
today that Principal Cynthia Cheng Correia will participate in the joint
program of the Simmons Graduate School of Library and Information Science
(GSLIS) and the Harvard University library system to train Iraqi librarians,
archivists, and information professionals.
Ms. Correia will join a team of subject experts, headed by GSLIS Dean
Michele V. Cloonan, to train Iraqi library, archive, and information
professionals in the current practices of archives and preservation,
automation, collection development, curriculum development, digital libraries,
management, organization of knowledge, and reference.

Ms. Correia. "Iraq has a rich history and culture, which deserve preservation
and development. Rebuilding and modernizing its information practices and

benefit."
This two-year initiative is funded by a $100,000 grant from The National
Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) as a part of its program, "Recovering
Iraq's Past," which funds projects to help rebuild Iraq's cultural heritage.
Iraqi participants will take library and archival courses, and work with
Simmons and Harvard library specialists on special projects to rebuild their
contemporary and historic collections and to modernize their library systems.
