announced today that its Automate:2000(SM) renovation factory service was
chosen by BankBoston to perform Year 2000 renovations. BankBoston selected
the Automate:2000 service to take advantage of the expertise and knowledge of
Peritus' experienced worldwide renovation teams and project managers. An
additional advantage was realized through the use of advanced automated
technology, proven to address the Year 2000 problem in the shortest timeframe
and with the highest level of accuracy.

propagation," one of the methods used, tracks the movement of date-sensitive
items in applications.
By following the movement of the date-related information, the date-
sensitive items are accurately identified from their use and format, rather
than from their names. Once the date-sensitive items are identified, they are
corrected using automation.
Automated identification and correction allows the Peritus renovation team
to leverage the power of the ERS/2000 tools to execute mass changes to the
applications. The result is greater throughput, efficiency, and consistency
in performing the renovation. In addition, the high automation of the
ERS/2000 minimizes the need for application knowledge.
