WARRENDALE, Pa., July 7 /PRNewswire/ -- American Eagle Outfitters, Inc.
(Nasdaq: AEOS) today announced total sales for the five fiscal weeks ended
July 3, 1999, increased 49.9% to $70.0 million from $46.7 million for the five
week period ended July 4, 1998. Comparable sales for the 1999 period were up
26.3% compared to the corresponding five week period last year.
Sales for the twenty-two weeks ended July 3, 1999, were $267.6 million
compared to the $183.7 million for the twenty-two week period last year, an
increase of 45.6%. Comparable store sales for the twenty-two weeks ended
July 3, 1999, increased 25.4% compared to the corresponding twenty-two week
period ended July 4, 1998.
American Eagle Outfitters, Inc. is a specialty retailer of all-American,
