iWon Surprises Indiana Grandmother on 'The Montel Williams Show'
IRVINGTON, N.Y., July 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- iWon.com,
(http://www.iwon.com) a leading loyalty-based Web portal and property of IAC
Search and Media, Inc., a wholly-owned business of IAC/InterActiveCorp
(Nasdaq: IACI), today announced that Bonnie Urick of Decatur, Indiana, won
the site's annual $1 million cash prize giveaway, becoming the Internet
portal's 26th millionaire since 1999.
iWon is the only loyalty-based Web portal that rewards users for using
the site, and offers consumers robust search, email and premium content, in
addition to cash prizes -- $10,000 every weekday, thousands more on
weekends and an annual $1 million giveaway. iWon's registered users reap
the benefits of their loyalty; the more users interact with the site, the
more likely they are to be an iWon winner.
"I never thought it would be this simple," said Bonnie Urick, this
year's iWon million dollar winner. "Every morning, I get up and log onto
iWon while I drink my morning coffee. I check my email and the latest
headlines and really don't even think twice about what I am doing. I cannot
believe how easy it was to actually win!"
The million dollar check was awarded to a thrilled Urick on the
nationally syndicated "Montel Williams Show," airing today across the
country. An unsuspecting Urick was taken by surprise when Montel Williams
brought her onstage to announce that she was attending the show not simply
as a guest of iWon, but was actually a lucky winner with a big surprise in
store. In a dramatic moment, Bonnie was given the chance to select an
envelope from an onstage drum, of which the contents was a check for either
$1 million or $25 million. While Bonnie was already guaranteed the $1
million dollar prize, she slowly realized her chances, now, for a much
larger prize. As Montel began spinning the drum, the audience waited to
find out if there was a multi-millionaire in their midst. Urick chose her
envelope and held it out for the talk show host to open. Upon tearing open
the envelope, Montel revealed that Urick was the lucky winner of $1 million
dollars, courtesy of iWon.
As Bonnie realized her good fortune, Montel explained to Bonnie,
"Girlfriend... you're going home with one million dollars! One million
dollars from IWON.COM!"
Urick, a mother of three daughters and grandmother to six, is an
accountant in her hometown of Decatur. The latest millionaire has been
using iWon since 2000 and she plans to use the money to buy a new car, as
well as invest in the future.
"iWon.com is a daily part of our users' lives, not just because they
have the chance to win great prizes everyday, but also because we offer
excellent search technology, reliable email and interesting content," said
Eva Boker from iWon. "iWon congratulates Bonnie Urick on becoming the most
recent iWon millionaire, and we hope that she and her family enjoy their
new-found wealth."
To date, iWon has given away $66,177,000 dollars to 268,945 people. For
