LOS ANGELES, July 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Ralphs Grocery Company is pleased to
announce the promotion of Mike Vriens to Vice President of its Industrial
Engineering Department. Vriens replaces Gill Cunningham, who recently left
the company. He reports directly to Dave Hansen, Executive Vice President,
Store Operations.
Vriens, 46, is a 30-year supermarket industry veteran. He started his
career in 1971 as a courtesy clerk at a Ralphs in Anaheim. He held several
store level positions, including Store Director for seven years. Vriens most
recently served as District Manager overseeing 20 Ralphs supermarkets in the
greater Long Beach area. Prior to that he held the positions of Customer
Service/Safety Coordinator, Director of Store Operations Administration and
Director of Retail Merchandising in which he was instrumental in the
conversion of Hughes Markets to Ralphs stores in the late 1990s.
As Vice President of Industrial Engineering, Vriens is responsible for
overseeing and controlling labor costs for the Company's over 450 stores,
manufacturing and warehousing operations.
Vriens resides in Yorba Linda with his wife, Teri, and four sons.
