HONG KONG, July 8 /Xinhua-PRNewswire/ -- Abas Business Solutions (PRC)
Ltd. announced today that the Company's Abas ERP system has been
successfully implemented in Union (Hong Kong) Metal Products Ltd.
(hereinafter referred to as Union-Metal).
Founded in 1971, Union-Metal is the certified partner of Swarovski, the
world-famous crystal manufacturer, and has been specializing in the
production and sales of various metal and crystal wares. In 2006, since the
limited functions of the existing computer system couldn't satisfy the
requirements of rapid business development Union-Metal decided to upgrade
it to a more powerful ERP system.
System function and cost benefit are the two important factors that
took into consideration by Union-Metal when selecting new system. It's
hoped that the new system could help optimize management flow and improve
operation efficiency. Introduced by one professor from The Hong Kong
Polytechnic University, Abas and Abas ERP were known by Union-Metal. After
circumspect evaluation, Abas ERP was found to meet the company's
requirements completely. Miss Alison Luk, the General Manager of
Union-Metal expressed, "With the powerful functions of Abas system and a

After six-month's system implementation, Abas ERP system went live
successfully at early 2007. Mainly used in sales management, purchasing
management, warehouse management, financial management and cost control, it
optimized the business process and improved the operation efficiency in
Union- Metal.
Firstly, data management is optimized. For example, Multi-level BOM
with detailed and accurate data can be created in Abas system and help
achieve accurate product and material management, which makes searching and
operation easy and assures data availability in business process. While in
old system only simple BOM could be created, which brought inconvenience to
jobs.
Secondly, business process is optimized and work efficiency is
improved. Full automation in sales, purchasing and financial management is
realized. For example, purchase order suggestions can be generated
automatically after system scheduling and transferred into purchase orders
by purchase officers directly, which simplified the procedures and fastened
work progress. Ms. Luk said:" We issue orders faster after using Abas
system and improve work efficiency."
Finally, the high flexibility of Abas system makes it available to
adapt to the various changes in SMEs and provides vast expansibility to
companies, which offers Union-Metal a good system platform for its
