SAN DIEGO, July 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Trega Biosciences, Inc. (Nasdaq: TRGA)
today announced the appointment of Stephen F. Flaim, Ph.D., F.A.C.C., to the
new position of Vice President of Biological Research and Development. Dr.
Flaim will direct all aspects of Trega's biology programs and report to Dr.
Lawrence Muschek, President of Research and Development.
"Steve has extensive experience in the biological aspects of drug
discovery and development," said Robert S. Whitehead, Trega's Chairman and

leadership skills make Steve the right person to head our biology effort.
Steve will also allow us to maximize resources and opportunities created by
recent collaborations with Novartis and Ono Pharmaceuticals. In addition, he
will collaborate with Dr. Michael Green, Vice President of Chemistry, in
guiding Trega's technical platform and internal discovery programs."
Dr. Flaim will assume his new position effective today. Previously, he
was Vice President, Biological Sciences, at Alliance Pharmaceutical Corp.
Prior to that, Dr. Flaim worked in key research positions at the Squibb
Institute for Medical Research and McNeil Pharmaceuticals.
