Industry-leading ATE Solution Sets New Standard for Performance, Investment
Flexibility
MILPITAS, Calif., July 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Credence Systems (Nasdaq:
CMOS), provider of industry-leading test solutions to semiconductor
manufacturers worldwide, has garnered Semiconductor International
magazine's prestigious 2007 Editors' Choice Award. The publication's
editors are conferring awards for excellence upon 21 commercially proven
industry products that are significantly advancing semiconductor
manufacturing technologies, with Credence Systems' Sapphire platform taking
the honors for high-end automated test equipment (ATE). Among the winning
companies, Credence is the only test supplier to be recognized this year
for the award, which will be presented at a ceremony during SEMICON West in
San Francisco on July 18, 2007.
According to Semiconductor International, award winners "exemplify
state-of-the-art equipment and materials installed and used in numerous
fabs around the world." In determining winners, publication editors weighed
the overall impact of solutions on the semiconductor industry, evaluating
factors such as whether a product has proven effective in production
environments and helped to advance state-of-the-art practices in its
category. Customer feedback was also an important factor in the selection
process.
The Credence Sapphire platform was selected among test solutions on the
basis of its advanced architecture that provides the best of both
performance and investment flexibility to customers. Used by global
innovators in the computing, consumer electronics, communications and
wireless industries, Sapphire systems address today's critical
semiconductor test challenges by setting new industry benchmarks for:
-- High-end performance: Sapphire supports high pin counts (>2,000), and
speeds of 6.4 Gbps and higher;
-- Higher Value: Lowers cost of test and cycle times by a minimum of
one-third to upwards of 50%;
-- Faster time to test, time to yield, time to market: Delivers
industry-leading throughput via an architecture optimized for
high-volume multisite and multicore testing, as well as field
reconfigurable analog, digital and power;
-- Flexibility: Leverages Credence Systems' XTOS software, which helps
customers to maximize device yield with enhanced flexibility for
managing complex program flows. The Sapphire test platform delivers
breakthrough value in supporting innovative design-for-test (DFT)
methodologies, with a diverse and scalable instrumentation portfolio
that extends investment value over multiple product generations.
"It's a great honor for us to be recognized by one of the industry's
premier authorities and influencers," says Lavi Lev, CEO and president of
Credence Systems. "As change sweeps and accelerates throughout the
industry, the Credence team continues to partner more closely with our
long-term
customers to evolve more advanced test solutions and set new benchmarks
for industry value and innovation."
In addition to the award-winning Sapphire platform, Credence also
offers the Diamond platform that delivers the investment flexibility needed
to satisfy customers' varying needs across multiple application types at
the industry's lowest cost of test, as well as the production-proven,
multisite-capable, high-throughput ASL Series for analog/discrete markets,
with an installed base of over 2800 systems worldwide. Product
demonstrations and technical presentations of these advanced test solutions
will be showcased at the Credence Technology Center (Metreon, 2nd Level,
July 17-18) during Semicon West 2007 in San Francisco.
