MUSE Technologies Announces SIGGRAPH 2000 Events

    ALBUQUERQUE, N.M., July 11 /PRNewswire/ -- The MUSE Technologies
(Nasdaq: MUZE) group of companies announces their activities for the SIGGRAPH
exhibition, which will be held in New Orleans, July 25-27.  The annual
SIGGRAPH (Special Interest Group on Computer Graphics) event attracts
25,000 executives and engineers from the worldwide computer graphics industry.
Attendees can explore and experience hands-on displays and demos of the latest
computer graphics hardware and software, presented by over 300 exhibitors.
    MUSE will occupy Booth 219 of the exhibition and will also make

    On Thursday, July 27, MUSE will host a Media-only breakfast at which
Professor Robert Stone, Scientific Director of MUSE Technologies, will present
"Perspectives on 3D Visualization Technology: The past, present and future."
Professor Stone is an internationally recognized expert in virtual reality,
human factors engineering and data visualization.  Members of the media are

    In Booth 219, the MUSE Perceptual Computing Group will demonstrate a
10-dimensional visualization of how weather in deep space impacts satellite
operations such as GPS and cellular services, and a highly interactive
visualization of 15,000 aircraft in flight over the continental US.  These and
other applications will also be demonstrated at Silicon Graphics (Booth 1019),
Sun Microsystems (Booth 819) and Advanced Micro Devices (Booth 1629).
    Also in Booth 219, MUSE Virtual Presence will demonstrate a
multiple-screen Windows(R) NT-based advanced VR-based training and simulation
system used in avionics maintenance, as well as a hands-on demonstration of
the company's MIST(TM) (Minimally Invasive Surgical Trainer) system, which
uses 3D graphics to teach and assess complex surgical procedures.
    Advanced Visual Systems, which plans to soon merge with MUSE Technologies,
will demonstrate an OpenViz(R) data visualization project deployed by
ConEdison to monitor New York City energy use, as well as scientific
visualizations created with AVS/Express(TM), the company's popular development
software.  Both OpenViz and AVS/Express will be shown in the MUSE booth as
well as at Sun Microsystems (Booth 819).
