Scios Inc. (Nasdaq: SCIO) today announced that Suzanne Beveridge has been
appointed senior director, investor relations and corporate communications.
Ms. Beveridge will report to David Gryska, senior vice president and chief
financial officer, and lead investor and public relations and media
communications.
Ms. Beveridge joins Scios from Amgen where she was most recently associate
director, investor relations, serving as a key communicator to the financial
community for the past three years. She joined Amgen in Australia in 1992 and
held positions in sales and marketing before transferring to Amgen
headquarters in California for an international business development position.
"Suzanne's extensive experience in high-growth biotechnology business and
investor communications is a valuable asset to Scios as we build on the
success of Natrecor(R) and advance our new product pipeline to become a

Ms. Beveridge holds a Masters of Business from the University of
Technology in Sydney, Australia and a Bachelor of Applied Science from the
Queensland University of Technology, Australia.
