Asiana Airlines Selects Pratt & Whitney to Power 777-200ER Aircraft in Deal Valued at US$135 Million

    FARNBOROUGH, England, July 14 /PRNewswire/ -- FARNBOROUGH AIR SHOW --
Asiana Airlines has selected Pratt & Whitney PW4000-112" engines to power
three new Boeing 777-200ER aircraft in a deal valued at more than US$135
million. The contract includes installed engines and a long-term service
agreement provided by Pratt & Whitney Global Service Partners. Pratt &
Whitney is a division of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX).

our relationship with this order for additional PW4090 model engines," said
K. H. Ma, senior vice president and chief purchasing officer, Asiana
Airlines. "As we continue to grow our fleet and expand our route network,

that Pratt & Whitney delivers day in and day out."

    Asiana currently operates 777-200ERs with PW4090 engines, Airbus
A330-300 aircraft with PW4168A engines and A320-family aircraft powered by
V2500 engines. Deliveries for the new PW4090 engines will begin in 2009.
